KUWAIT: Investigations are currently ongoing in a case in which a group of friends claim that an enemy they were preparing to fight against almost released a large tiger at them. The alleged incident reportedly took place on Al-Blajat street in Salmiya where the 12 young men approached someone they had unfinished business with, and decided to settle their differences the old fashioned way.
Soon enough, the enemy was joined by a friend, who reportedly had an adult tiger sitting in the backseat of his car. The group opted to flee when the tiger’s owner threatened to release the wild beast at them. They reported the incident at Rumaithiya police station immediately afterwards. Investigators are working to confirm the allegations before further action is taken.
Foul play
Hawally police launched an investigation into a homicide case filed after evidence of foul play was found at a crime scene where a man was reported dead. Police and criminal investigators headed to an apartment located in a building at Yarmouk Street behind the Dar Al-Shifa Hospital where the 34-year-old victim was found dead. Investigations revealed that the man died of a fatal head trauma after he was hit by a hard object on the head. Investigators reportedly found drug paraphernalia at the scene as well. The body was taken for a forensic check as a case was opened at Nugra police station.
Domestic worker tries to commit suicide
A domestic worker was hospitalized in a critical condition after jumping off a building in Hawally in a bid to end her life. Paramedics and police rushed to the area following a report about an Asian housemaid falling from her employer’s window. She was rushed to Mubarak Hospital where she was admitted at the intensive care unit. Investigations confirmed that the incident was a suicide attempt.
Employees charged
A building janitor was recently arrested for stealing rent collected from multiple buildings in Salmiya and Hawally. The buildings’ owner had assigned one of his employees to collect rent which totaled to KD 30,000. When asked about the money collected, the janitor eventually confessed to his employer that he sent all the money to his home country. The man was arrested after his employer called the police.
During investigations, the suspect explained that he resorted to theft when his employer repeatedly turned down his request to borrow money he desperately needed to pay an urgent debt. He was referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal procedures. Meanwhile, an Arab man reportedly escaped from Kuwait after stealing KD 600 from a company where he worked as an accountant. The company owner reported the incident to Al-Salhiya police station, saying that his employee disappeared after stealing the company’s profits.
Thieves arrested
Farwaniya investigators arrested two bedoon young men responsible for 15 car thefts reported in three different governorates. Police launched investigations in eight car thefts reported in Al-Ferdous, when they eventually apprehended two suspects driving a car confirmed to be one of the vehicles reported stolen. During investigations, the suspects admitted committing several crimes in Al-Farwaniya, Hawally and Capital governorates in which they used stolen cars to carry out robberies at PC shops. They were referred to the proper authorities to face charges.
